How to send News, Features and Images
Short Circuit Mag.info is now a very busy web site with a printed magazine published more regularly than monthly for those who prefer a printed version. As such, we need your text and images very quickly after meetings, not monthly as in most cases that will be too late.
SENDING: Most work is submitted via email usually to mark@shortcircuitmag.info. Please do not use other emails for us as well as we have to download them all and then delete them, which is a total waste of time. Photos can also be uploaded quickly and easily using the below.
NEWS: The main part of the site and magazine are news items. These can be on drivers, cars, or anything topical.
FEATURES: Can vary in length, although around 2000 words seem to be the normal. Please let us know in advance if you are planning a feature, so that we can organise photographs, advertising, etc.
OTHER ITEMS: Mint Motors, Young Racers Corner, Looking Back.
MEETING REPORTS: No longer required except for championship events as listed in our guide to championships in issue 324, other meetings please write as a ‘newsy’ item instead.
IMAGES: Whilst a CD or DvD is useful for our files with lots of photos, really we need just a small selection from a meeting – the winners – racing preferably, or some action to go with news items. Either email or upload them via the form below. mark@shortcircuitmag.info
BECOMING A CONTRIBUTOR: If you send us regular items we will add you as a regular contributor, and will organise your own firstlastname@shortcircuitmag.info email address, which will be pointed to your existing email. We also require a photo for use as a gravatar and a few words about yourself (racewise) as this will appear after each post you make. Also if you go on any forums using this email your image will appear automatically if Gravatrs are enabled on the site. This only really works for writers – a photographers section will be done later. The web site then has an author’s plug-in that works out payments so we can easily pay for what is used from Jan 2012 via PayPal – preferably.
