‘Smiffyman’
We are extremely saddened to hear that Dave Smith, known as ‘Smiffyman’ passed away this morning 10th March. One of, if not the nicest person you could ever meet, he supplied Short Circuit with many superb photos. Not only from race meetings, but often went with Malcolm Foskett and teams of willing race drivers to all and sundry race tracks across the country who brought their cars along so we could do track tests, Dave even having a go himself on the odd occasion.
Not only an enthusiast of taking car-racing photos, he also loved to organise and take photos of groups of people involved with the racing behind the scenes, and especially after the Ipswich Spedeweekend almost used to fill our hard drive with so many great action and behind the scenes photos.
Our sincerest condolences to his family and many, many, friends he made everywhere he went.
Such sad news. Smiffyman was a true gent and a very passionate fan of motor racing and all things associated. having gone through a lot of pain recently Dave can hopefully now rest in peace. Loved by many…. will be missed by ALL!
