Greg Wood to Nationals

A surprise entry in the Hot Rods at Ringwood on New Years day was Greg Wood from Hereford. He was using the meeting as a warm up session before a return to the National Hot Rod class.
Greg was at the meeting with father John and brother Lee who are also former Hot Rod drivers.
John explained to Short Circuit “Greg was involved in a serious crash at Hednesford a few years back when he was hit head on by another car. Following that incident he took three years off from racing and has only raced at the Birmingham Open meeting before coming here today.” He continued, “Greg is still quite nervous but after this meeting he is scheduled for a return to the Nationals.”
John Wood raced in the Nationals himself for fourteen years before passing his cars and equipment over to his two sons. Lee had a successful period at Ringwood in the Hot Rods before going on to Nationals. He now races an Audi in the Silhouettes class on the long circuits alongside another former National driver Keith White.
