White Wins Open
ASCAR star Colin White took his second win in the annual Metcraft Tanks Short Circuit Open at Angmering’s Oval Raceway on Sunday. Driving one of Janie Jamieson’s National Hot Rod Corrado racers, White started on row two after hot qualifying drives by local stars Darren Akehurst and Dick Burtenshaw. Akehurst led the lion’s share of the Final laps, before CW worked his way by, then a lap later the race was brought to a premature end when Matt Charman’s Corsa crashed heavily into the inside wall on turn one. Burtenshaw finished third, ahead of Colin Baker and South Western rodders Mike Loosemore and Mike Sarjeant.
Stu Thompson drove a superb race to win the final round of the Baby Grand series from Andy Brown, with Colin White third in his freshly prepared miniature rendition of his ASCAR ride.
